    The structure of the Institute comprises 4 scientific departments with 16 laboratories and particularized groups.
  1. Department of strategic analysis in occupational health.
    Department collaborators works out a methodology and methods of assessment and prognosis of medical-social damage to workers’ health during work including reproductive health and also health of next generations from occupational factors exposure.
      Department consists of four laboratories:
    • Laboratory of epidemiological investigations.
    • Laboratory of occupational and environmental risk assessment.
    • Laboratory of medical and ecological issues of workers’ reproductive health protection.
    • Laboratory of analytical researches and dataware in occupational health.
  2. Department of hygienic regulation
    Theoretical and methodological basics of hygienic regulation of unfavorable occupational environment and working process factors; hygienic researches for basing of optimal regimes of work and prophylactic of unfavorable working process factors on organism, study of action mechanism, working out of methods of working process factors’ control, normative-methodical documents are being worked out.
      Department consists of four laboratories:
    • Laboratory of work’s physiology and prophylactic ergonomics.
    • Laboratory of toxicology.
    • Laboratory of complex problems of branch occupational health.
    • Laboratory of scientific basics of regulation and prophylactic of unfavourable environment and working process physical factors’ impact on human.
  3. Clinical department of medical examination, prophylactic and rehabilitation of professional and work-related diseases.
    Scientific basics of profession pathology, caused by occupational and working process factors exposure effects; study of professional diseases’ pathogeny; methods’ working out of diagnostics, therapy, prophylactic and examination of ability to work, medical and working rehabilitation of patients with professional diseases; working out of regulated documents concerning questions of profession pathology are being worked out.
      Department consists of 5 sections, 2 laboratories, 4 groups:
    • Section of internal diseases.
    • Section of nervous system and musculoskeletal system diseases.
    • Section of dermatology.
    • Group of otolaryngology.
    • Laboratory of clinical diagnostic.
    • Laboratory of biochemistry.
    • Group of pathological anatomy and electron microscope investigation.
    • Group of immunological and allergic researches.
    • Scientific-practical group dealing with usage of phytotherapy in clinic of professional diseases.
  4. Scientific coordinating-informational department.
    It carries out scientific planning, informational securing of research, description and analysis of occupational hygiene’s history, development of international collaboration with foreign countries, planning and coordination of work of RAMS Scientific council and Ministry of Health of Russia “Medical-ecological problems of workers’ health”.
    Occupational Clinic of the Institute has outpatient and inpatient service with 150 beds. It consists of therapy, dermatology, neurology, x-ray, hyperbaric oxygenation, physiotherapy and other departments. Qualified specialists use the latest diagnosis and treatment methods for curing bronchi, lungs, digestive tract, lever, bilious organs, skin, cardio-vascular system, nervous system and urinary system, musculoskeletal system.
    Devices and test-systems manufactured both in Russia and abroad are in use during hematologic, cytochemical, cytogenetic and immunological investigations, in revealing of wide spectrum of occupational and domestic allergens, biochemical investigations of lipid content in blood serum, markers of acute phase of inflammation, testing of liver and kidneys functional state, heart markers, carbohydrate metabolism disorders (glycated hemoglobin), estimation of purine metabolism, testing of protein spectrum (by electrophoresis), metabolism of micro- and macro-elements (K, Na, Ca, Fe, Cu), detecting of heavy metals in biological media (Pb, Hg, Ni), investigation of porphyrin metabolism. To reveal genetically induced diseases and evaluate the risk of their progress, RNA-diagnostics are conducting. Hormone state of organism is being tested.
